Coastal scenery, exercise and some of the best local food are all back on the menu with the Scrumptious Croyde Trail set to return in June.

The event, which pairs up a 10.5 mile trail through some of North Devon’s most picturesque scenery with samplings of delicious produce along the way, will set off from Croyde on Sunday, June 3.

Walkers or runners will travel through Saunton, Georgeham and Putsborough, all while raising money for hospital charity Over and Above.

With only 300 spaces available, organiser and hospital fundraiser Julie Whitton is urging people to sign up before it’s too late.

She said: “Every year this event sells out within weeks. It is such a feel good event – our participants taste the very best foods and drinks from across the South West, they can choose whether to walk or run, enjoying spectacular scenery on the route, and they raise funds for our local hospital charity, Over and Above at the same time.”

The 2018 trail is the fourth time the event has taken place. As always there’s a theme, with cartoon characters the focus of this year’s trail.

Barnstaple’s Bonkers fancy dress shop will be offering a discount to participants.

A place on the trail costs £28, plus a booking fee, which includes food for participants along the way.
