School speeding patrols target village motorists

Pupils join police to promote road safety message to drivers

BIDEFORD police have set up a school speed watches in Woolsery and Buckland Brewer following complaints from local residents about speeding.

Pupils from both primary schools will be able to work with police officers to send a positive message about the dangers of speeding outside schools.

“The watches will give youngsters an interesting experience of using specialist police equipment, as well as help reduce speeds in the area,” said PC John McGovern.
