PROJECTS to rebuild three schools in North Devon have fallen foul of Government cuts.

Replacement schools for Chulmleigh, Ilfracombe and Marland Special School at Petersmarland were all approved by the former Labour Government.

But yesterday new Education Secretary Michael Gove cancelled Labour's Building Schools for the Future programme saying it had been beset by "massive overspends, tragic delays, botched construction projects and needless bureaucracy."

The news came as a particular disappointment in Chulmleigh which was promised 11 million last year to replace its community college which comprises mainly temporary huts.
