West Buckland School’s ‘150 Building’ to receive top RICS accolade
WEST Buckland School will be awarded a sustainability award by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) at a ceremony being held in the school’s “150 Building” tomorrow night (Wednesday).
The art, design, technology and drama building, which opened in April last year, is being recognised in the annual celebration of excellence in the natural and built environment.
The £5million facility replaced poor, existing arts accommodation with a contemporary, high-quality and sustainable building. The socially and economically sustainable project supported local businesses and engaged the school and surrounding community.
The evening will feature a talk and tour of the building before the awards presentation.
