Christie Estates is to carry out improvement works to popular beach car park
Work is underway to improve Saunton beach car park.
Owner Christie Estates has a programme of work planned for completion by the end of April.
It is working with Saunton Beach Enterprises to lay a new Tarmac surface at the entrance to the car park, which should be finished by Easter.
The next phase - filling in potholes and resurfacing the middle lane and some parking bays - is expected to be finished by the end of April.
Refurbishment work is also being carried out on the main building in the car park, home to The Sands Café and Surfed Out surf shop.
It is expected to be finished in early April. Replacing the balcony and re-cladding the building will be the most obvious signs as well an extension to Surfed Out.
Andrew Woollacott, from Savills, which took over the task of managing the Christies estate last year, said: “These have been necessary works and we think visitors to Saunton beach will appreciate the difference this summer.
“We have been working alongside Saunton businesses, in particular The Sands Café, Surfed Out and Saunton Beach Enterprises, with the aim of improving the user experience at Saunton beach.”
