Hundreds of Santas will be heading to RHS Garden Rosemoor on Sunday, December 9 – and with less than a month to go until the festive 2k fun run, organisers have revealed more about some of the treats in store on the day.

Nearly 200 people have already signed up for the Children’s Hospice South West event, which is being held at Rosemoor for the first time this year following a number of years on Bideford Quay.

And anyone who wants to enter only has until midday on Wednesday, December 5, to sign up.

Jayne Jarrett, events fundraiser at CHSW said “The event has grown in popularity over the years and it became tricky to manage all the runners on the Quay.

“So we are really excited about bringing the event to Rosemoor as it gives us the chance to offer a full day out for families.

“And it’s going to be quite a sight seeing so many people in the beautiful gardens all dressed in red and raising funds for charity that supports families from across Devon and beyond.”

A Christmas event village in the Garden Room opens at 10.30am with face painters, Christmas fayre, tombolas, entertainment and music by Torrington Town Silver Band.

You’ll also be able to meet some real live reindeer – and feed them some moss after the run for just 50p a bag.

There will be a fun and festive Santas warm up before the run is officially started by the Mayor of Great Torrington at 12.30pm.

The event registration fee includes a Santa suit and covers the cost of entry into RHS Garden Rosemoor. For children aged three and under, registration is free. Spectators can watch for just £5 admission (admission for children under 15 years and RHS Members is free of charge).
