The stunning views of Combe Martin Bay will serve as a backdrop for happy couples come rain or shine in the new purpose built venue away from the main hotel building.

The 150-seater building will be finished on May 18 and the hotel is holding an open day on May 26 from 10am-4pm, with all welcome to go along and see the new facilities.

Sandy Cove hopes to hosts weddings all year around and the new feature could create another dozen jobs.

Highlights include a gazebo which extends three metres out over the cliff and inside there is state-of-the-art fibre optic lighting.

Director Dawn Ten-Bokkel said it was ‘a beautiful space’ and the entire front of the building could be opened.

She added: “We have done weddings for 40 years but it has always been in the main hotel – but this will be completely exclusive and secluded, dedicated just to weddings.

“With this it will be right on top of the view and even with bad weather, the view will be part of the room.”
