On Saturday, viewers saw Sam, who was 18 at the time of filming, complete the tough obstacle course in a very respectable time of two minutes and 24 seconds. It left him seventh on the leaderboard, with a guaranteed place at the semis, which are scheduled to be aired in a few weeks. He was one of a handful of contestants to beat the challenging course, which included obstacles such as the Floating Steps, Tick Tock pendulum challenge and the spinning bridge before taking on the four metre Warped Wall. Sam, who lives near Bideford and works at Air Extreme in Barnstaple, watched the show at home with his family. He said: It was a bit nerve-wracking watching it, because when you are there you dont even think about it, but when you watch it back it seems that much worse. The course was quite hard this year and you dont get any practice on it at all they walk you past and show you pictures but other than that you cant go near it. When you look at it you think I can do that, but its not one obstacle on their own, its all of them together. Ninja Warrior UK is back with a new heat this Saturday at 6.30pm on ITV1.
