Owners are reluctantly selling pub due to ill-health.
A traditional village pub described as the hub of the community has gone up for sale.
According to agents, The Union Inn, in Stibb Cross, ‘ticks every box of cosy’, with cream rendered walls, exposed wooden beams and a beautiful open fireplace.
Richard Wood of Christie + Co, said the detached two-storey pub – with 50-cover bar area and 16-cover restaurant – was a natural stopping off point for locals and visitors.
“Our clients have developed a strong food trade. Due to ill heath, they have reluctantly put their business on the market leaving room for a potential purchaser to expand the trade into areas our clients haven’t been able to.
“One plan was to develop the substantial owner’s accommodation to include separate letting rooms with separate roadside access to the accommodation.”
The Union Inn occupies a prominent crossroad position, between Torrington and Holsworthy.
The pub has three double bedroom owners’ accommodation, large car park and garden.
