POLICE, paramedics and search and rescue organisations are taking part in a "Safety Net Work" initiative being held for Year 6 pupils at Landkey Primary School. The scenario on July 15 will be that under age drinkers have set part of the school on fire. One youth has run off, but another has fallen from the roof, requiring the presence of search and rescue and paramedics.Police and PCSOs will explain traffic control, evacuation of nearby residents or use of the Force helicopter. A youth intervention officer will also explain the dangers of alcohol - including use of a pair of glasses that stop people from walking in a straight line, so creating the sensation of the effects of alcohol.Pupils will be able to ask questions of the emergency organisations. This follows a successful similar initiative at Orchard Vale School.
