NORTH Devon branch of the RSPCA presented awards to helpers and rescuers at its annual open evening at St John's Garden centre in Barnstaple.Branch chairman John March presented awards to Emma Tulk and Leah Taylor of Bideford for their carol-singing fund raising and Courteney Patterson and Joanne Hocking of Caen Street School in Braunton for organising a fund raising table top sale.Rescue awards went to Neil Worth, Braunton Burrows Education Officer Johns Breeds and RSPCA animal officer Debbie Ley, who combined in the rescue of a seal.Sandy Skinner and Becky Welch both received Volunteer Awards for services to the branch.RSPCA regional press officer Jo Barr spoke about some of the amusing, happy and sad rescues made by the RSPCA.
