Hundreds of people watched from the Square as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows in St Georges Chapel in Windsor. While the ceremony took place, the crowd basked in the sun and enjoy burgers, ice-cream and fizz. There were plenty of flags and bunting, and some youngsters even dressed up in their own princess-like attire. There was also a screen in the pannier market for those wishing to shelter from the heat to watch the occasion. The royal wedding took place at noon, as they now parade around Windsor in the royal carriage. The event was organised by Barnstaple Town Centre Management in partnership with Event Support Solutions. This afternoon there will be further celebrations around the town, with Block on Butchers Row will be holding a wedding reception from 3pm-8pm with fizz, (hot) dogs and tunes from DJ Pete Robinson. Tea by the Taw will be hosting afternoon tea to celebrate with free prosecco. You can also book yourself into Treat Time on Boutport Street for a royal wedding themed tea party, or decorate your very own commemorative plate or cup at Lets Paint Ceramics, also in Boutport Street.
