A rounders tournament has raised hundreds of pounds for a North Devon domestic abuse charity.

North Devon Rounders has presented a cheque of £664 to North Devon Against Domestic Abuse (NDADA) after holding a charity tournament at Barnstaple Rugby Club in the summer.

The tournament was well supported, both by the 100 players who took part and by local businesses who contributed to a raffle.

Event coordinator Georgina Crossman said: “ It was amazing to see the teams enjoying rounders and raising more than £660 for NDADA surpassed our expectations.

“This now brings the total we have raised for local charities to more than £3,000, and we’re already planning our next tournament, in aid of North Devon Hospice, on Sunday, June 9, 2019.”

Alessia Sheldon, Re:Store shops manager for NDADA, said “We had such a great day and North Devon Rounders raised a fabulous amount for NDADA.

“We would like to thank all involved in making the event such a success; we felt honoured to be North Devon Rounders’ chosen charity for the event.”
