Round Table Santa runs start in Bideford and Barnstaple this week

HE'S made a list, checked it twice, and from Wednesday Santa Claus will be visiting town to see who's been naughty and nice!
The grand old gentleman will be making a series of special tours around Barnstaple and Bideford as part of the local Round Table clubs' annual Santa Sleigh Runs.
In Barnstaple, the fun starts on Thursday night in the Woodville area of the town before moving into Sticklepath on Friday. It's the turn of Roundswell on Sunday; Pilton on Monday; Newport east on Tuesday. On Thursday, 17, Santa will visit Forches; Gorwell on Saturday 19; Whiddon Valley on Sunday 20; Newport west on Monday 21; and the town centre on Tuesday 22.
The Barnstaple event, organised for the third year running by the Barnstaple and District Round Table, is being held to raise money for local charities. Last year, Round Tablers and their helpers walked a total of 300 miles and collected more than �6,500 for good causes.

Meanwhile Bideford Round Table will begin its Father Christmas rounds in the Londonderry area of the town on Wednesday.
Torrington, Monkleigh and Buckland brewer will get a visit on Friday; Torrington on Saturday; Fremington on Sunday; Clovelly Road on Monday; Morton Park on Tuesday and Santa will make a village run on Wednesday 16. On Thursday 17, the sleigh will visit Park Lane; Northam on Friday 18; Westward Ho! on Saturday 19; East-the-Water on Sunday 20; New East and Lime Grove on Monday 21; and Appledore on Tuesday 22.

The float will set off at 5pm on week nights and 4pm at weekends.
