THE two rotary clubs in Bideford are fast getting their names into the record books, having achieved three records in one night.Bideford and Bideford Bridge Rotary Clubs decided that synergy was the answer to making their traditional presidents' nights more interesting and by joining together they have written their names into the Rotary record book.They are the first clubs to have combined their activities in this way, also cutting costs for themselves and their guests. The joint venture at the Barnstaple Hotel attracted the district governor, district governor-elect and what is believed to be another record, 11 Rotary presidents!During the night they also raised more than £700 for the Rotary Shelterbox scheme, making Bideford Rotary Club the only club in the country to have funded 124 boxes - another record.
