A guitarist who has played with some of the biggest names in the pop world is to become the President of the Barnstaple link Rotary Club!Ilfracombe-born Lewis Baglow, pictured above, will be taking over the role from Grahame Davidson whose marketing skills have brought recognition to the Link Club's activities during his year of office."Grahame has done so much but people still seem to think that Rotary is for the very old but the Barnstaple Link club and others in the area have fast been putting this myth to bed", said Lew who can still be seen on stage as part of the local band the Elderly Brothers.n the 1960s, Lewis sang on stage with Billy Fury and among the groups Lewis played alongside were, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, Nashville Teens, The Searchers and The Four Pennies. In the 80s Lewis gave up the pop scene to return to Barnstaple and run his own successful office equipment business in Bear Street. He was attracted to the Rotary movement having seen the good it had done for so many in his travels. "In a world full of injustices and poverty, disaster and famine, being a member of the 1.5million-strong organisation can make the difference" he said.
