Rob Braddick has launched a brand new Sand of Music weekend by channeling his inner Maria von Trapp and dancing across Westward Ho!

A Westward Ho! businessman has channeled his inner Maria and created a special music video to launch a new weekend event.

When the popular Bradfest was shut down by police due to disruption in May, Waterfront owner Rob Braddick was left with the problem of what to do next.

Mr Braddick wanted the festival, in its seventh year, to go on, but after discussions with police, they decided it should be renamed without the 'festival' vibe.

So how do you solve a problem like Maria?

You package it up with a brand new name, complete with an epic music video, in a bid to make people smile.

At least, that was the mission of Rob 'von Trapp' Braddick, who decided to dress up as Maria to create this video for the newly named, Sand of Music weekend.

The video has been shared more than 69,000 times, and features Rob dancing around the 'Ho! belting out the Sound of Music classic with some re-made lyrics.

And of course, it wouldn't be complete without a mention of the free parking down the road.

The Sand of Music will take place at The Waterfront in Westward Ho! on August bank holiday weekend.

The video was shot with the help of Mike Buckland - watch it above.
