Rectory Road at Combe Martin now reopen following earlier accident.

A main road into Combe Martin had to be closed for a time this morning after a van overturned.

No one was injured but police reported the white Toyota Hiace van ended up on its roof following the incident at around 7.40am.

The road was closed while recovery work took place, with a single lane reopened at around 9.15am and traffic reports indicate it is now fully open.

Sheets of ice covered the road as run off water froze overnight in the sub-zero temperatures, but it is not known if the ice was responsible for the accident.
