THE Royal Horticultural Society Rhododendron Competition is being held at RHS Garden Rosemoor in Great Torrington for the third time on Saturday and Sunday.The event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with a magnificent display anticipated in 60 different classes, covering all types of rhododendron.This will include ground-hugging alpines and forest tree species, exotic and tender vireyas or the most cold-resilient hardy hybrids. There will also be a magnolia and camellia show to complement this display of spring beauties and experts will be on hand to answer any questions.Diana Gilding, Rosemoor's events supervisor said: "We are very excited that the National Competition has come to Rosemoor again and look forward to seeing the variety and quality of the exhibits. "We thought it might be the last time that the RHS national show was held here at Rosemoor, but it now looks as if we will be hosting it again next year, which is great!"Entry to the rhododendron show is free with normal garden entry to Rosemoor.
