Renault has produced a double debut with its All-New Arkana as its first purpose-built hybrid car plus the first ever Renault SUV with coupé styling.
The Arkana is powered exclusively by electrified powertrains: an advanced E-Tech hybrid and an efficient new TCe 140 mild-hybrid.
The E-Tech hybrid produces 145hp, returning up to 58.9mpg, and produces as little as 109g/km in CO2 emissions, while the new TCe 140 engine features mild-hybrid technology to boost the efficiency of the stop-start system and delivers enhanced performance.
The Arkana makes a bold statement as the brand’s first-ever SUV with sleek coupé-inspired styling, yet it slots perfectly into Renault’s range of eye-catching SUVs alongside the Captur and Kadjar.
All versions feature diamond-cut alloy wheels as standard, ranging from 17-inch ‘Bahamas’ wheels on the Iconic model to 18-inch ‘Pasadena’ on S Edition and 18-inch ‘Silverstone’ wheels for the range-topping R.S.
Not to mention tinted windows plus black lower door protection on all models.
A raised SUV ride height and spacious cabin also makes it an ideal family car, together with a massive 513 litres of boot space.
The E-Tech hybrid combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and two electric motors, which together produce 145hp, 148Nm of torque from the 1.6-litre petrol engine and 250Nm of torque from the electric motors. This version will go from 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds.
Also available on all Arkana models is a TCe 140 petrol engine that use clever ‘mild-hybrid’ technology. Offering 140hp and 260Nm of torque, this 1.3-litre engine propels the Arkana from 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds, while offering up to 48.7mpg.
The mild-hybrid technology works with a 12-volt starter generator that ensures faster and more refined operation of the Stop & Start function when coming to a standstill, also reducing emissions at the same time.
All models feature Active Emergency Braking System, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist.
The All-New Renault Arkana is available from £25,300 OTR. Visit County Renault at Hollowtree Road in Barnstaple to book your test drive. Call 01271 349500 or go online at www.countygaragegroup.co.uk/renault.
