Relay for Life 2016 is open for registration.
The popular event, which raised £17,000 for Cancer Research UK earlier this year, will return to Barnstaple Rugby Club on July 23-24.
Relay for life is a 24-hour team event where men, women and children of all ages and abilities can take to the track and take turns to walk. In August, 14 teams and 17 cancer survivors all walked in unison to beat cancer sooner.
Organisers will also be holding an open meeting at the rugby club tomorrow (Thursday) for anyone interested in taking part – be that as part of a team, as a survivor or by holding a fundraising event.
Relays across the UK raised £2.4million this year, and North Devon organiser Lisa MacKenzie is keen to build on that in 2016.
“We really are committed to beating cancer sooner and every penny we raise will do that, so a huge thank you to everyone,” she said.
“It would be great to build in 2016 and have 20 teams plus.
“It’s hard to understand the relay until you have done one, then you’ll want to do it every year.
“We have a great committee who will help you with fundraising ideas, promote your events and are on hand for any questions that people may have.”
To register visit relay.cancerresearch uk.org and find the North Devon event. Registration is easy and costs just £15 and is free for under-17s and survivors.
