Relay For Life takes place in Barnstaple this weekend, where teams will walk for 24 hours in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The event, which is held at Barnstaple Rugby Club, begins at noon on Saturday, and runs until noon on Sunday.

Team members will take it in turns to walk around a track. There is still time to sign up for the event, which is free to enter.

However, fundraisers are asked to try and raise donations of £200, which will go towards fighting cancer.

Part of the event will also see a ‘survivors lap’, with a lap of honour of the track. There will also be a candle of hope ceremony as darkness descends.

Throughout the day there will be live music, food and entertainment including face painting, stalls, dancers and inflatable fun. There will also be a chance to learn more about the symptoms of cancer.
