Red Arrows jet in to Barnstaple
SCORES of people lined Barnstaple's two bridges to catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows yesterday lunchtime (Wednesday).
SCORES of people lined Barnstaple's two bridges to catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows yesterday lunchtime (Wednesday).
Crowds waited patiently to watch the whoosh of 10 Hawk T1 jets soaring in formation above the town.
The RAF's acrobatic display team approached Barnstaple from Exeter at speeds of 360 knots and sped along the River Taw towards Chivenor.
The fly past was arranged by the North Devon branch of the Royal Air Force Association to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and promote the association's annual Wings Appeal.

The association is planning a number of fund-raising events in aid of ex-RAF personnel during August and September.
