PEOPLE in the Bideford area have recycled 2,786 tonnes of household waste thanks to the £1.2 million centre which opened in the town a year ago.The state-of-the-art site at Caddsdown Industrial Estate serves Bideford, Northam, Westward Ho! and the surrounding area. It is estimated that the site had more than 85,000 visits from local residents over the past 12 months. Around 65 per cent of the 4,286 of all waste brought to the site is recycled.The site is open seven days a week, all year round (except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day). It is open Monday-Friday 8am to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm. (The closing times are 4.30pm fromOctober to March).
