A lovelable lurcher with a wonky smile is looking for his forever home.
Eighteen-month-old Benson was born with a slightly undershot jaw, resulting in some missing teeth.
But while he has a quirky look, it certainly hasn’t stopped the cheeky chap from enjoying his food, nor causes him any issues.
Staff say his look adds to his charm and he has become a firm favourite since he arrived at the rehoming centre. They have fallen head over heels with his lopsided smile.
Staff are hoping that he doesn’t end up being overlooked by potential new owners due to his unusual eye- catching appearance.
Elise Watson, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, said: “Benson is a gorgeous boy with an amazing character, so we can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want him as part of their family.
“We think his usual looks just add to his beauty and makes him even more individual.
“Even though we don’t know much about his past, he’s such a clever boy and already knows various tricks – all in exchange for a tasty treat.
“He’s very affectionate too and enjoys a fuss, especially once he’s had a run around with his toys or after a nice long walk.”
Benson is looking for an active, loving home and could live with older teens. He’s happy to have canine walking buddies, but he would prefer to be the only dog in the home.
