Pupils are card-carrying recyclers

St Mary’s schoolchildren do their bit for the environment

YOUNG recyclers at St Mary’s Primary School in Bideford have been busy doing their bit for the environment.

Pupils at the school have been collecting hundreds of assorted greetings cards as part of a recycling initiative run by Torridge District Council during the month of January.

In fact, they amassed so many that the region’s own self-styled queen of recycling, Mrs Recycle, paid the school a special visit to collect them all.

Mrs Recycle – AKA Cathy Karniewicz – will be re-visiting the school next term to encourage school and household recycling.
