The public will have the chance to view proposals for the new North Devon College when they go on show for the first time at a public exhibition on Friday and Saturday. The new college will be the largest ever single infrastructure development to date for North Devon and Torridge with investment behind it of more than £100m. Working alongside a number of agencies, the college will relocate from its current Sticklepath site to one chosen at Seven Brethren, providing not just a state of the art education facility but somewhere all of Barnstaple can enjoy.David Dodd, North Devon college Principal, said: "This is a terrific opportunity for the people and businesses of North Devon and Torridge. I am particularly excited that this move will put the college at the heart of cultural and social development, driving the economy of North Devon forward. "Our ambition is to have everyone within North Devon and Torridge visit the new college within two years of it opening, not just students to gain vital skills and qualifications but also the public at large and businesses who will be able to benefit from some of the word class learning and community social facilities that will be on offer. The plans will be on show in Green Lanes on Friday between 9am and 5:30pm and in the Henry Williamson Room at Barnstaple Library on Saturday from 10am to 4pm).
