Public opinion sought on Northam Burrows

PEOPLE are reminded to have their say at a community consultation event over plans by Northam Town Council to acquire Northam Burrows from Torridge District Council.

The event will take place at Northam Hall, previously the Scout Hut, on Tuesday, January 11 at 7pm.

There will be a short presentation on the council’s plans for the Burrows, followed by a question and answer session.

The council is keen to hear from residents and interested parties as to how the Burrows could be managed more sustainably and what benefits there could be for the community, visitors, grazers and other users.

If the application is successful, the acquisition would see the town council take over the staffing and management of the Burrows as a community asset.
