Would you like to see a youth club in the Landkey and Swimbridge area?A meeting recently held at Landkey School organised by Devon Youth Services between parents and young people, along with officers from Devon and North Devon Council, considered some solutions for providing youth activity in the village. As a result of this meeting a solution was put forward to provide a youth worker to support the development of a youth club. The next meeting is arranged for Tuesday, March 3 at 7pm.The idea is being strongly supported by both local North Devon councillors David Luggar and David Butt.Councillor David Luggar (representing Landkey, Swimbridge and Taw Ward) of North Devon Council said: "I think it is really important that the young people of Landkey and Swimbridge get a youth club so they can take part in a range of safe and fun activities in the village."Councillor David Butt (Youth and Diversity Portfolio Holder) of North Devon Council added: "It would be great to see as many local people as possible who are interested in being part of the youth club development to help provide a much needed new resource for the youngsters of Landkey and Swimbridge "It is hoped that a youth session will be held for two hours once a week, run by a qualified youth worker, to provide Landkey and Swimbridge with a new facility for local young people.
