Two North Devon prisoners have helped to raise almost £17,000 for charity.Peter Brend, of Saunton Sands Hotel, and Paul Oades, of North Devon Orthodontic Centre in Newport, were jailed for the charity on Friday at Exeter Castle. They were both arrested at Exeters Heavitree Police Station and taken to the former law courts. There they were tasked to raise a bail of £999 for Childrens Hospice South West (CHSW) in order to be released. Peter has raised £4,022.50 and Paul, £1,149.00. Peters crime was refusal to step on a beach and Paul was found guilty of obsessive wig wearing. Naomi Dymond, corporate fundraiser at CHSW, said: I cannot thank Peter and Paul enough for their incredible fundraising. They helped immensely to make it such a great event and really entered into the spirit of the day. CHSW is celebrating its 25th birthday this year.
