Princess Anne will be visiting Holsworthy today (Monday) to officially open the new livestock market. The Princess Royal will take a tour of the £6million building, which held its first market in September 2014. Torridges deputy leader Cllr James Morris said: We are really honoured that the Princess Royal has kindly agreed to officially open the livestock market, which will be a fitting finale to the project. The market has already delivered a step-change in the economic vibrancy of the area and we look forward to welcoming Her Royal Highness and showing her around the modern and up-to-date facilities the market has to offer. Work began on the multi-million-pound project in June 2013, and it took the Morgan Sindall team 850 hours to construct. The AgriBusiness Centre is the largest single project ever undertaken by Torridge District Council, and is now being operated by auctioneers Kivells. Check back later for photos from the grand opening.
