AUGUST 2010:

Mark Roberts (Service to Neighbourhood Regeneration.) Owner of Roomers - offers a quality retail offering and the decoration enhances the High Street.

Trisha White (Helping our Environment.) Town Warden and Instrumental in helping establish Ilfracombe Street Reps, valued member of the scheme and is involved with countless voluntary services.

Sue Mulcahy (Positive Influence.) Organised a street party for residents of Burnside/Slade Valley almost single-handed, including activities and raffle raising funds for local charity.

Walkers Chocolate Emporium (Exemplary Customer Service.) An asset to the High Street, contributing to tourism by providing curious charm. Whole building immaculately maintained. Lovely product.

Tony Alcock (Services to Youth.) Football secretary at Ilfracombe Football club for more than 30 years. Voluntary position and has helped generations of young people to play sport in our town. He attends all home and away games to carry out his duties. Also marks pitches at Marlborough Park and Killacleave. Runs raffle to raise money for club. Shows exemplary commitment to both the football club and the town.

APRIL 2011:

Terry Elliott (Helping our Environment.) Volunteers for Bicclescombe Park Group, Cow Green, Greener Ilfracombe and is the secretary of Ilfracombe Street Reps. She is a admirable and positive influence on the Ilfracombe community.

Barbara Clarke (Length of Service.) Barbara spends many voluntary hours working for the IDTA in the TIC on the Ilfracombe Tourism Marketing Group.

Ruth Wand (Act of Kindness.) Ruth runs the Open Door at the Baptist Church in the High Street. They work with poor and vulnerable people making them feel welcome and valued as members of the community. They open three times a week offering free hot drinks, biscuits and a friendly face to talk to.

Christine Thompson (Positive Influence and Citizen of the Year.) Under her guidance the school has gained prominence and embedded its influence within the community. Two years ago she was recognised as the primary school headmistress of the year for the South West.

Liz Reynolds (Voluntary Worker.) She has run for many years the Ilfracombe and District Toy library. She is also chair of the charity FOND Families, of which she is a very active and successful fund raiser.

Lee Baxendale (Youth.) Lee has worked for many years with the young to the old, directing and inspiring them on stage and off. He makes a great contribution to Ilfracombe. He has also started the singing group The La Las.

Sarah Henderson (Dedicated Carer.) Has two sons, both with autism, but manages to find time to walk an elderly neighbours dog and has volunteered as a driver for the blind club for the last four years.

Mike Turton of Turton’s Butchers. (Exemplary Customer Service.) Good customer service, very good quality meats and superb selection of home made pies. Always promoting Ilfracombe and supporting High Street traders.
