A POSTMAN was airlifted to hospital after rolling his van down an embankment at Croyde on Saturday.
Eye witnesses said they saw the Royal Mail van apparently lose control while making deliveries at Baggy Point at around 12.30pm.
The van rolled six feet into a ditch, where it remained in a precarious position near the cliff edge as firemen from Braunton and Woolacombe freed the driver used hydraulic cutting equipment.
The casualty was then flown to North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple.
