Pool repair plans take shape

Proposals to save Torrington sports facility move forward

TORRIDGE District Council has submitted its own plans to rebuild the roof at Torrington Swimming Pool.

The pool, run under contract by Parkwood Leisure, has been plagued by maintenance issues and has remained closed since the summer.

The council has set aside �400,000 of the �500,000 needed to replace the roof of the pool hall in School Lane.

The Amateur Swimming Association has promised �100,000 and a further �50,000 has been promised by Torrington Town Council over the next five years.
