Pony rescued from stream in Yarnscombe

The animal had to be sedated by a vet as it was suffering from hypothermia.

A PONY suffering from hypothermia was rescued from a stream in Yarnscombe this morning (Monday) by fire fighters.

Fire fighters from Torrington and South Molton, as well as the specialist rescue team from Barnstaple were called out at 11.25am.

The pony was stuck in the stream and unable to free itself at a farm in the area and was rescued by fire fighters and sedated by a vet.

Crews used rescue equipment and small tools, and a farm assisted with a telehandler.
