North Devon is getting ready to head to the polls tomorrow (Thursday) to vote in the General Election.

Voters will be choosing who they want to represent them in Parliament, as well as voting for their district and town or parish councillors.

Last week our poll showed 37 per cent of people in Barnstaple were still undecided on who to vote for.

The Gazette asked the parliamentary candidates for North Devon and Torridge and West Devon to make a final appeal to those unsure people...

North Devon

Nick Harvey (Lib Dem): "Vote for me if you want a strong and experienced voice for North Devon: I will stand up for our public services, protecting them from the excesses of Tory cuts, and continue to promote the local economy for the benefit of all."

Mark Cann (Labour): "Whoever you chose, make your vote a positive one. So many people have said they felt let down by voting tactically in the past - so this time, vote for the policies that you really believe in; if you support Labour's plans, then vote for them!"

Peter Heaton-Jones (Conservative): "I've fought a positive and clean campaign with one message: voting Conservative gets you a hard-working local MP who'll fight for North Devon with fresh energy, and secures the economic recovery led by David Cameron; but voting any other way risks the chaos of Ed Miliband propped up by the SNP, which is too great a risk to take."

Gerrard Sables (Communist): "Vote for what you believe in and remember that politics is far too important to be left to politicians so keep campaigning for what you believe in."

Ricky Knight (Green): "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, open-minded citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has - your vote can change the world ... if you vote Green!"

Steve Crowther (UKIP): "If you're still not sure who to vote for, after 4 months of election blarney and 35 years of Conservative and Liberal-Democrat representation, maybe it's time for something new and different, like a real North Devonian UKIP MP."

Torridge and West Devon

Cathrine Simmons (Green): "If you are undecided on who to vote for you should vote with your heart and not think about tactical voting because previous history has shown this does not send the right message to government"

Mike Sparling (Labour): "If your family can't afford five more years of our NHS going backwards, then vote for your NHS on May 7 and vote Mike Sparling, vote Labour."

Derek Sargent (UKIP): "As your MP, I will put the constituents of Torridge and West Devon first by working full time for their benefit, by upholding the highest standards in public life, by abiding by the spirit as well as the rulers on expenses and allowances and by upholding the values of duty, integrity and service, all of which were ingrained in me during my 23 years service in the Royal Marines."

Geoffrey Cox (Conservative): "Only the Conservatives can deliver on a plan to bring the jobs and economic prosperity we need here in Devon - a vote for any other candidate is a vote for five years of Labour neglect."

Paula Dolphin (Lib Dem): "Hard working, full time and no-nonsense - Vote Dolphin!"
