POLICE and other agencies are reminding the public, particularly children, to stay away from frozen waterways.
Although no incidents have been reported in the Devon and Cornwall area, the Environment Agency has taken calls from worried members of the public who have seen children playing near frozen water.
"The message is to stay far away from frozen rivers, canals, ponds and reservoirs," said a police spokesperson.
"It is almost impossible to gauge how deep any ice is and the potential danger to life if you fall through the ice is very high.
