PUPILS, parents and police got on their bikes for a trip along the Tarka Trail to raise funds for St Mary's Primary School in Bideford.
Forty children took part in the ride from Bideford to Instow and back in a sponsored event organised by the Parents and Friends Association to raise funds for items beyond the normal school budget, such as improved playground equipment.
With them went parents and local Police Community Support Officers Hayley Watts, Sarah Todd, Paul Uden and John McGovern.
They had taken the opportunity to support the school and to raise awareness of the fact that they now used bicycles in their local community work, said PCSO Watts.
