Police investigate two burglaries in same village

Fishing tackle and an air rifle were stolen in separate incidents

TWO burglaries which took place in Chittlehampton, near Barnstaple, are being investigated by the police.

One took place between 7pm on Sunday, January 9 and 5.30pm the following day when approximately �5,000 of fishing tackle and a portable DVD player were stolen.

The other incident took place between 2pm on Friday, January 7 and 2pm on Tuesday, January 11 when an air rifle was stolen.

Police are reminding people to secure their property and make sure that no valuables are left on display.

They are also asking the public to be vigilant and call police if they notice any suspicious vehicles or people in the area.
