POLICE and ambulance personnel were called to West Leigh Farm, Combe Martin yesterday (Monday) where a man had received injuries to his arm following the unintentional discharge of a 12-bore shotgun.
The 52-year-old man was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Armed police went to the scene as a mater of routine. Inquiries are continuing, but a police spokesman said the incident was not deemed suspicious. It was thought that the man dropped the weapon on the floor, resulting in an accidental discharge.
