Officers are appealing for witnesses after stones were thrown into a garden in Bideford, smashing mutiple items of furniture.

Police are investigating reports of criminal damage to garden furniture at an address in Myrtle Gardens in Bideford.

It is thought the damage was caused by a person or several people throwing stones between 11pm on Saturday, April 1, and 1am on Sunday, April 2.

PCSO Dan Hirst said: "The garden in question borders the grounds of The Old Rectory building on Abbotsham Road, and it would appear that the offending party has caused further damage here after first gaining entry to the building.

"The area of The Old Rectory is private property and members of the public are not permitted to be there.

"We welcome any information you have that may assist us with any investigations into this damage."

Police will be conducting extra patrols within the area.
