Police hunt would-be post office thief

Appeal for information after village shop robbery attempt

POLICE are appealing for information after a would-be thief was disturbed while trying to rob a village post office.

A man is alleged to have tried to take items from behind the counter at Riviera Stores in Yelland before being spotted and walking out of the shop.

Nothing was stolen and no-one injured in the incident, which took place at around 1pm on Monday, September 19.

The suspect is described as being around 5ft 6 in tall. He was wearing dark trousers, a navy blue jacket, white trainers and wore a scarf across his face.
