A MONTH after a Bideford woman was assaulted while jogging on the outskirts of the town, her attacker is still at large. But police said that all the witnesses known to have been in the area at the time of the incident have now come forward and last of these will be interviewed this week. They include a group of youths in a small car and the rider of a red moped, who were the subject of a media appeal. As painstaking investigations into the incident continue police are now awaiting the results of forensic examinations.Local athlete Andrea Chance, 42, was jogging along a lane below the Londonderry housing estate when she was attacked from behind, had something put around her neck and was pushed into a hedge and punched. She was left badly bruised and scratched. But Andrea fought back, kicking her attacker until he let go.She was found collapsed in the road by a motorist, who came to her aid.Police described it as a very serious incident, but an event that was, thankfully, almost unheard of in North Devon. The incident took place between 4.30pm and 5.10pm on Friday, February 22.The attacker is described as 30-40 years old, of stocky build and wearing light coloured jeans and a dark top.
