Police arrest man suspected of drug dealing

A police hunt through undergrowth near Bideford resulted in a man being arrested on suspicion of drug dealing. The man was seen to run away from officers when he saw them in the town on Monday. Officers followed him to the Landcross area near the Tarka

A police hunt through undergrowth near Bideford resulted in a man being arrested on suspicion of drug dealing.

The man was seen to run away from officers when he saw them in the town yesterday (Tuesday).

Officers followed him to the Landcross area near the Tarka Trail and called in a dog unit to track the man down when he went into an area of undergrowth.

He was detained by a dog unit close to the Iron Bridge and searched. Officers discovered what is though to be a quantity of heroin on him and more nearby.

The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to supply, interviewed and later released on police bail while inquiries continue.
