Do you recognise the man in this image?

POLICE in Barnstaple have released an image of a teenager they wish to speak to in connection with an alleged assault in Barnstaple last month.

The unprovoked assault happened on St Mary’s Road, Barnstaple on Friday, August 16, at around 7.45pm.

A police spokesman said the victim, a 53-year-old Barnstaple man, was walking towards the town when he saw a group of people who barged past him.

The victim crossed the road and then one of the members of the group allegedly punched him in the face causing a broken nose and bruising to his eyes.

The teenager police would like to speak to is described as white, aged between 16 and 18, medium build, around 5ft 10, with short dark hair. He had a mole or mark on his right cheek and was wearing a black top, dark trousers/jeans and was carrying a jumper in his hand.

Anyone who recognises the teenager pictured, or has any information that may assist with the investigation, is asked to please call PC Steve Wall on non emergency number 101 quoting CB/13/2417.
