Police witness appeal launched after driver left with life-changing injuries

One person has been left with life-changing injuries after two cars collided near Little Torrington yesterday (Friday).

Two people were rushed to hospital after the serious collision between a van and a car.

Police were called at 4pm and the road was closed and the injured were taken to hospital at Derriford and North Devon District Hospital.

A police spokesman said: “The collision involved a Citroen Picasso which had been travelling toward Merton and a white Ford transit van which had been travelling in the opposite direction toward Torrington.

“For reasons yet to be established the Citroen appears to have collided almost head-on with the oncoming Ford van.

“The Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the manner of driving of either vehicles prior to this incident or who may have relevant dash cam footage or other information in relation to this incident to contact the police quoting log number DCP-20181207-0601.”
