Police are appealing for witnesses and after a handbag was taken in an Ilfracombe burglary.

The incident took place on Sunday (July 22) between 3.45pm and 4pm at a property on Mill Head.

Investigating officer, PC Andrew Burrell, said: “The unknown offender(s) have entered the property through an insecure door and have taken a handbag that was located on a table.

“A number of credit and debit cards have then been used in local shops.

“I’d like to urge people to be vigilant of their belongings and not to leave valuable items on display, particularly where they can be seen through ground floor windows.”
