Police appeal after Ilfracombe break in

Man broke into elderly woman’s bedroom but left without taking anything when she told him to leave.

POLICE are appealing for information after a man allegedly broke into an elderly woman’s home while she was in the property.

The incident occurred at around 3.15am on Sunday at a mid-terraced house in Marlborough Road, Ilfracombe.

A police spokesman said the offender, described as a white man in his 30s, entered the house via an insecure front door and then smashed the inner porch door.

He entered the elderly victim’s bedroom, who told him to leave. He then left the house without taking anything.

The suspect is described as being approximately 5ft10, of medium build with black wavy hair and wearing a maroon top and jeans.
