Police appeal after charity fraud in Barnstaple

Three men were arrested for allegedly selling brownies and claiming it was for charity.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three men were arrested on suspicion of fraud in Barnstaple High Street.

The men were allegedly selling brownie cakes between 3pm and 4pm on Tuesday, claiming the proceeds would go to charity.

The suspects were later released on police bail until January.

Anyone who witnessed the men selling food items or who has any information is asked to please call police on 101 quoting police ref. CB/13/3425.
