Residents warned after man offering to do maintenance work distracts homeowner and PS4 and Xbox One are taken

POLICE are appealing for information after around £2,000-worth of computer gaming equipment was stolen from a Pilton house on Tuesday.

The incident, which took place in Westaway Heights between 1.30-2.20pm on Tuesday afternoon, involved a white male, said to be between 40-45, showing up at the house offering to undertake maintenance work.

The householder then showed the man, described as 5’10” in height and of a stocky build, around to the rear of the property to look at guttering.

They returned to the front of the property and it is believed another unseen person then entered an insecure rear door.

Police say that a Sony PlayStation 4 and an Xbox One computer games consoles were stolen, along with controllers and 20 games – with a combined value in the region of £2,000.

Two pairs of LG 3D glasses and 15 BluRay DVDs were also taken.

The first male is described as heavily tanned with short brown hair, and was wearing a white vest with two holes in it and jeans.

Residents in the area are warned to remain vigilant. Anyone with information should call 101, quoting crime number 090069/14.
